An ongoing police investigation into a deadly shooting in Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas, has taken a troubling turn with the recovery of spent shell casings linked to Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) ammunition.
Twenty-five-year-old Quinelle Gittens was gunned down and 21-year-old Jordell Peters seriously wounded in a late-night attack on Monday while liming with friends and playing cards outside at Chenelle Avenue. The gunman, described as a slim-built man clad in dark clothing and a grey jersey over his face, opened fire on the group before fleeing the scene.
When crime scene investigators arrived, they recovered twelve spent 9mm shell casings, three live rounds, and two projectiles. Among the spent shells were two TTPS-issued 9mm casings.
