The Court of Ap­peal is sched­uled to hear a mat­ter over the con­tentious lit­i­ga­tion chal­leng­ing a move by the Gov­ern­ment to ter­mi­nate over 300 Com­mu­ni­ty-Based En­vi­ron­men­tal Pro­tec­tion and En­hance­ment Pro­gramme Com­pa­ny (CEPEP) con­trac­tors on Oc­to­ber 2.

The date for the hear­ing was an­nounced by the Court of Ap­peal in a no­tice is­sued last Fri­day.

The com­pa­ny was seek­ing an ur­gent hear­ing of the pro­ce­dur­al ap­peal dur­ing the ju­di­cia­ry’s on­go­ing an­nu­al va­ca­tion pe­ri­od, but its ap­pli­ca­tion was re­fused by Ap­pel­late Judge Nolan Bereaux last week.
