Officers of the Special Investigations Unit conducted an intelligence-led operation in the Northeastern Division between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The exercise was supervised by Snr Supt Edwards, Supt Etienne and ASP Lynch, with support from the Inter-Agency Task Force.
During the operation, officers intercepted a vehicle travelling west along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway near the Ibis Building. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 40 packages of compressed Colombian “creepy” marijuana, weighing 20.74 kilogrammes. The drugs carry an estimated street value of TT$4.4 million. The seizure was coordinated on the ground by Insp Ammon.
One male suspect was taken into custody in connection with the find.
