The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and the Prison Service carried out a first-of-its-kind, intelligence-led operation at the Women’s Prison, Golden Grove, Arouca, early Saturday resulting in the seizure of illegal contraband.

The exercise was conducted between 1:15 a.m. and 3a.m.,.

The operation featured an all-female search team, comprising officers from the DCP Operations Team, Special Intelligence Unit (SIU), Northern Division, National Emergency Division (NED), and an all-female Prison Emergency Response Unit (ERU), supported by an all-female Guard and Emergency Branch (GEB) contingent.
