A MAN accused of raping the mother of his child has been found not guilty after a High Court judge ruled that the State had failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the sexual encounter occurred without her consent.
Justice Lisa Ramsumair-Hinds delivered the decision on Monday, clearing the man of the sole charge of rape.
In doing so, the judge also directed that the man remain anonymous given that publishing his name could lead to the woman as well as the four-year-old child being identified. The charge arose from an allegation by the woman that on April 28, 2022, the man forced her into having intercourse.
