Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar promised last night to go to “war” for Trinidad and Tobago against crime and corruption.
She was speaking at the Siparia Women’s Association’s 28th annual Divali celebration at the Siparia Constituency Office in Penal before a large audience of constituents, members of the diplomatic corps, and several members of Government, including Minister of Works and Infrastructure Jearlean John, Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath, Energy Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal, Housing Minister David Lee, and others.
Persad-Bissessar compared her nearly ten years in Opposition to that of Lord Ram, who was chosen to be the king of Ayodhya but, on the eve of his coronation, was forced into exile for 14 years.
