MEMBERS of the public who turned out yesterday to view the body of calypso icon Mighty Sparrow (Slinger Francisco), at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA), left disappointed as they were unable to view the deceased calypsonian. This, as the body, which lay in state, was in a closed casket.
Among the attendees yesterday was 61-year-old Anselm Callender, of St Margaret’s Village, Claxton Bay.
“I was disappointed because the box was closed. They said it was a viewing. They didn’t say it was a casket viewing,” he told the Express yesterday as he left SAPA.
