Fibre Cable Damage Causes Temporary Service Disruption to Mobile Data and Fibre Internet Customers

One Communications experienced a mobile data and fibre service disruption after a private company not associated with One Communications was conducting construction works along Carifesta Avenue damaged a critical section of the company’s fibre network infrastructure.

At approximately 3:16 PM on September 23, 2026, contractors damaged one of the company’s fibre cables, affecting both mobile data and fibre internet services.

Upon identifying the issue, technical teams immediately initiated restoration efforts and implemented network rerouting measures to minimize customer impact. Services were restored at a reduced capacity approximately one hour after the incident, with temporary full restoration achieved at 12:05 AM.
