A woman has died after she was struck by a pickup along the eastbound carriageway of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway near the Tumpuna Road intersection on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the victim, who has not yet been identified, was found lying in a drain along the highway shortly after the collision.

According to reports, officers of the Highway Patrol Task Force were conducting patrols and enquiries in the Northern Division around 3.20 p.m. when they were flagged down by a motorist.
