A 55-year-old mother of 12 was killed on Wednesday afternoon after she was struck by a vehicle while walking along the shoulder of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway near the Tumpuna Road intersection in Arima.

The victim has been identified as Sherry Ann Joseph of Wallerfield, Arima. She died at the scene of the accident.

According to police reports, officers of the Highway Patrol Task Force were conducting patrols in the Northern Division around 3.20 p.m. when they were flagged down by a motorist along the eastbound carriageway of the highway.
