A 21-year-old bar employee was robbed at gunpoint in Claxton Bay on Thursday, resulting in the theft of over $25,000 in cash and personal property.
According to police, the robbery occurred around 11:33 a.m. at Side Bar, located along the Southern Main Road. The victim, a machine operator, was approached by a male suspect who entered the bar armed with a firearm and announced a robbery.
The suspect made off with approximately $21,000 in roulette machine earnings from the cash register, as well as a gold chain valued at $5,000 from the victim. He then fled on foot heading north along the roadway.
