A man has been charged in Tobago for a series of sexual offences following investigations by the police Special Victims Department (SVD).
Police said the accused was charged with sexual penetration, sexual grooming and sexual communication in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred around 1:30 a.m. last october 25.
According to investigators, the man allegedly picked up the victim, his niece, from her home and took her to his residence at Scarborough, where sexual assault reportedly occurred. Investigations also revealed that the accused allegedly communicated with the victim via social media, grooming her into committing sexual acts.
