By last Saturday evening, roadways leading to the Xtra Foods Plaza in Tarouba slowed to a crawl, as thousands flocked from across the country to be a part of the “Underground” car meet up- a local motorsport spectacle that promised to deliver an experience akin to those famed in countries like Japan and Dubai.
Organized by Videographer Nicholas Ajodha of Ajodha Concepts and Rajive Suchit, the free event drew scores from across the country, hoping to get a glimpse of the nearly 200 luxury sporting vehicles put on display within the Mall’s underground parking facilities. Patrons endured hours of traffic, some parking their vehicles walking along the streets to make it.
For nearly three hours the event ran between 6.p.m. and 9.p.m., Ajodha and Suchit told the Express the estimated attendance had run up to nearly 2000, as locals had ventured to the venue. As they arrived, they met vehicles ranging from GTR R34s, Ferraris, Porches, and a number of antiques that had lined the space.
