The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) says there was a “minor incident” Tuesday on a bus operating the San Fernando to Port of Spain route.
“Contrary to reports circulating on social media, the unit was not on fire. The bus experienced a brake binding issue resulting in smoke emanating from the wheel assembly. In accordance with established safety protocols, the driver promptly and safely evacuated all passengers,” the Corporation stated in a release.
PTSC stated the Corporation’s Fleet Maintenance and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) departments are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the case of incident.
