The rainfall that brought relief from the dangerous bush fires that had been sweeping across parts of Trinidad and Tobago for weeks, also created hazardous road conditions that contributed to several crashes across the country, including one fatal accident in Couva.

Police said the fatal crash happened at around 2.15 pm along Rivulet Road near the Camden traffic lights.

According to eyewitnesses, a Nissan Primera was proceeding west when it crossed into the path of an oncoming white Toyota Hilux travelling east towards the highway.
