TRINIDAD and Tobago has abstained from Caricom's latest statement on the mounting impact of United States sanctions against Cuba, in which the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) yesterday condemned a resulting 'grave humanitarian crisis'.
Caricom has also again warned against any further military action against Cuba and cited a 'deleterious effect on the lives and livelihoods of the Cuban people' due to ongoing US barricades on fuel and some essential supplies into Cuba.
According to a statement issued by COFCOR yesterday, 'The Cooperative Republic of Guyana and The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago reserve their positions on the foregoing statement.'
