The deceased has been identified as Judith Harris, a woman of African descent in her 70s, who lived alone. Reports indicate that around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police were alerted by an informant who reported a strong foul odor coming from Harris' home.
Officers observed flies and an overwhelming scent on the side of the house. Initial attempts to gain access were unsuccessful, as the house was securely locked. Officers eventually forced open a door and discovered Harris' body in a bedroom.
