The body of a missing teenage girl who was autistic is suspected to have been discovered in Barrackpore on Wednesday.

The body, who was found in an advanced state of decomposition, was found in a forested area near KPA Trace off GP Road, four days after Malini Persad, 15, was last seen in her community.

Police suspect that foul play was involved in her disappearance and on Wednesday detained a 52-year-old man, who resides in the community, to assist in their investigations.
