Former commissioner of police McDonald Jacob said in a sworn witness statement to police in July 2025 that arms dealer Brent Thomas had volunteered to return to Trinidad from Barbados.
Speaking to the Express by telephone yesterday, Jacob, who was acting police commissioner and acting DCP (Intelligence and Investigations) at the time on the Thomas probe, also said that he had authorised his officers to travel to Barbados in October 2022 to bring back the arms dealer to Trinidad.
Jacob’s claims, however, were denied by Thomas yesterday afternoon when he spoke with the Express via phone.
