The Piparo mud volcano is bubbling and its present activity is being described as worse than in 2019 when cracks and fractures had developed.
On Thursday morning, the mud was seen bubbling and also spewing several feet into the air.
“A number of people calling saying its worse than last time a few years ago, in 2019. Every time it acts up people who live in the surrounding area call and they become frantic and worried,” vice chairman of the Couva Tabaquite Talparo Regional Corporation Henry Awong told the Express during a telephone interview.
