A High Court judge has recommended that, while there is a search for on-going solutions to crime, Zones of Support and Safety (ZOSAS) can be implemented within families and communities.
In his speech during the Penal Rotary Club’s Annual Awards and Mother’s Day function at Royal Hotel in San Fernando on Saturday, Justice Frank Seepersad said that ZOSAS require the understanding that it takes a community to protect a community.
Seepersad noted the national discussion around the government’s Zones of Special Operations (ZOSOs), as he challenged citizens to implement Zones of Support and Safety (ZOSAS). This he said will focus on fostering homes, communities and institutions in which every individual is valued, protected, corrected where necessary, and nurtured with purpose.
