Homi­cide de­tec­tives are await­ing in­struc­tions from the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions (DPP) on po­ten­tial charges against a woman and four men sus­pect­ed of mur­der­ing 60-year-old Cunu­pia busi­ness­man Im­raz Ali.

Ali, re­port­ed miss­ing on Sep­tem­ber 4, was last seen leav­ing a shop in Freeport, dri­ving a black Nis­san X-Trail. His de­com­pos­ing body was dis­cov­ered over a month lat­er, on Oc­to­ber 10, wrapped in plas­tic and dumped down a precipice off the North Coast Road near the pil­lars.

Five peo­ple have since been ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with Ali’s mur­der and re­mained in cus­tody as of yes­ter­day evening. Po­lice con­firmed that a file con­tain­ing ev­i­dence and wit­ness state­ments has al­ready been com­piled and sub­mit­ted to the DPP for re­view.
