According to line Minister Dr. Michael Dowlath, one of the Ministry of Education’s recent initiatives is focused on collaborating with the Ministry of Health to ensure early diagnosis of visual and auditory problems. He spoke on the matter at a ceremony on Sunday, where eyeglasses were distributed to needy children in South Trinidad.
“At the Ministry of Education we’ve developed a programme called PIRL which is to do the early diagnosis, from 4 to 6 years old, for visual and hearing. And the lead happened years ago with RapidFire and many other organizations. And so I want to commend the RapidFire Kidz Foundation for being pioneering together with all the other organizations who would come to the Ministry of Education to do their part.”
Meanwhile, president of RapidFire Kidz Foundation, Kevin Ratiram highlighted the importance of the organization’s initiative.
