Jensen La Vende

The le­gal tab for the US$131 mil­lion Pi­ar­co Air­port judg­ment grant­ed in favour of this coun­try two years ago, will be picked up by two sup­port­ers of the Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress (UNC) and their Mi­a­mi coun­ter­part, ac­cord­ing to a judg­ment de­liv­ered on May 9.

The judg­ment came af­ter Mi­a­mi Cir­cuit Court judge Reeme­ber­to Di­az, in May 2023, or­dered that busi­ness­man Steve Fer­gu­son, for­mer UNC min­is­ter Bri­an Kuei Tung and US busi­ness­man Raul Gui­tier­rez Jr pay this coun­try US$131,318,840.47. The mat­ter is now the sub­ject of ap­peal.
