Priya Ramdeo, of Trinidad and Tobago, has placed second in the 2026 Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre Youth Short Story Competition with the story “Mas For The Living Sea“, chosen from 173 entries submitted by young writers in 14 CARICOM Member States.
Launched on 27 July 2026 by the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC), the competition invited CARICOM nationals and residents aged 18 to 25 to respond to one prompt: “Imagine a climate-secure future for the world. Inspired by theCaribbean.”
Through the project, the CCCCC sought to provide a platform for young Caribbean voices to contribute creatively to the regional conversation on climate change, resilience and the future they want to see.
