A Manchester man accused of misrepresenting himself as a medical doctor as well as a Justice of the Peace and signing motor vehicle and other documents was today granted $600,000 bail in the parish court.
Marvin Dean, 46, of Cross Keys, is charged with impersonating a Justice of the Peace, impersonating a doctor, unlawful possession of forged documents, forging the seal of a notary public, uttering a forged seal, possession of a forged stamp, cheating the public revenue, forgery, conspiracy, obtaining money by means of false pretence, and attempted bribery.
In granting bail, Parish Court Judge Monique Harrison ordered Dean to report to the Newport Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and warned him to keep away from witnesses.
