UnitÂed NaÂtionÂal ConÂgress (UNC) stalÂwart Don Sylvester, 72, was reÂmemÂbered yesÂterÂday as he was laid to rest, fitÂtingÂly on the 37th anÂniverÂsary of the UNC, as the kind of man who could make you laugh even when you wantÂed to cry, and who nevÂer waÂvered in his loyÂalÂty to his parÂty or his friends.
Sylvester, who died on April 21, served as a senÂaÂtor beÂtween 2012 and 2014 unÂder the KamÂla PerÂsad-BissesÂsar adÂminÂisÂtraÂtion and conÂtestÂed the St Ann’s East seat in the 2015 genÂerÂal elecÂtion.
He alÂso worked in loÂcal govÂernÂment and with the NaÂtionÂal CarÂniÂval ComÂmisÂsion. Sylvester reÂmained an acÂtive presÂence withÂin the parÂty over the years.
