Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath on Monday night accused former public utilities minister Colm Imbert of wasting $1.3 million to redesign his office, including the installation of a new workstation, with a custom-made coffee station, tea station and paintings.
Imbert yesterday denied the claims made by Padarath.
He stated on X: “UNC MP Padarath falsely insinuated that I spent $1.3 million on a 30 by 30 room for myself at the Ministry of Public Utilities, which is a blatant untruth. The truth is the entire 6th floor of the ministry was renovated, and the work on the minister’s office only cost $0.16 million.”
