Alzheimer’s and dementia a growing public health concern

The escalation of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia is a growing public health concern for Barbados.

This revelation comes from geriatrician and executive member of the Barbados Alzheimer’s Association, Dr Ambrose Ramsey, who spoke at an event marking World Alzheimer’s Day.

He says there are numerous people suffering with the disease, and the numbers are increasing as the country’s population ages.
