Government is looking to strengthen respite and community support for family caregivers as part of wider reforms to Barbadosâ mental health and elderly care systems.
Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Arthur Phillips said caregiver respite is among the key issues being addressed and will be discussed during the second phase of the new Geriatric Hospital.
He made the disclosure during Monday eveningâs Ministry of Health and Wellness and Inter-American Development Bank public consultation on the Health Services Resilience Programme at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
