A 45-year-old labourer was shot and killed in broad daylight at Concerned Citizen Street, California, on Monday.

Police said that around 1.05 p.m., officers received a report from the E999 Police Command Centre of a shooting in the area. First responders from the Central Divisional Task Force, Area South, arrived shortly after and found a man lying on his back on the roadway with apparent gunshot wounds.

The deceased was later identified as Ashton Wells of Ramdhanie Trace, Indian Walk, Princes Town.
