A Coast Guard officer was shot and killed during a robbery in the early hours of Friday in Point Fortin.

Dacian John, 36, of Loblolly Drive, La Resource Road, in D'abadie, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A police report stated that John was with a group of friends seated in his Audi motor vehicle that was parked along Cassia Street in Point Fortin near the home of one of his friends.
