(Kaieteur News) – A 27-year-old Berbice man has been arrested as police investigate alleged threats to make explosives during Monday’s protest outside the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed’s extradition proceedings were being heard.
According to a statement issued by the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the arrest was made on Tuesday, November 3, as investigators probe a video circulating on social media in which an individual allegedly made remarks about making explosives commonly known as “Channa bombs”.

Police said the video was recorded during a Facebook Live broadcast from an account operating under the name “FS Khan” while the protest was taking place on November 2. The video reportedly captured several individuals throwing missiles at police ranks, while a male voice could be heard saying, “Burn the place.”
