(Kaieteur News) – The rehabilitation and reconstruction of Taxiway Charlie and the main runway at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) will cost a combined $3.329 billion.
The figure represents the total value of two contracts awarded through the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) for the Ministry of Public Utilities and Aviation.
According to information published on the NPTAB website, Lot 1, covering the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Taxiway Charlie, was awarded to A&S General Contractors Inc. for $2.119 billion. Lot 2, covering works on the main runway, was awarded to R&N Construction Services for $1.210 billion.
