The United National Congress (UNC) lost one of its members yesterday with Cumuto/Manzanilla MP Dr Rai Ragbir officially resigning from the party, citing concerns over its leadership and direction under Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
In a letter to the National Executive (Natex), Ragbir announced his resignation with immediate effect, saying the UNC had “lost its moral compass” and no longer represented the values it once stood for.
“The party has become a personality cult, dominated by divisive rhetoric, empty theatrics, and relentless internal purges,” Ragbir wrote.
