Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar yesterday announced a recall of 625 Priority Bus Route (PBR) passes as she addressed the abuse of power, and publicly named and shamed some of the recipients on the list.
Speaking at the post-Cabinet news conference at the Cabildo Building, Office of the Attorney General, Port of Spain, Persad-Bissessar mentioned one family, in particular, where multiple members received PBR passes, among others.
“A simple thing like a Bus Route pass was being used like you giving out Kiss cake or—what you call it? Cookies. You know. Hops bread, bake. Whatever. It wasn’t roti they was giving out, boy, this thing like gifts without substance,” she said.
