THE Trinidad and Tobago Municipal Police Service (TTMPS) has taken another step in its modernisation drive with the formal launch of its Public Information and Communications Unit (PICU), a new department aimed at improving transparency, strengthening public trust and ensuring citizens have timely access to accurate information.
Speaking at the launch yesterday at the TTMPS Headquarters in Marabella, Minister of Rural Development and Local Government Khadijah Ameen described the establishment of the unit as a best practice in public administration that reflects the evolving role of modern policing.
Ameen said that the PICU would serve as the official link between the Municipal Police Service and the public, ensuring information flows openly, responsibly and effectively.
