The InÂter AmerÂiÂcan DeÂvelÂopÂment Bank’s priÂvate secÂtor arm, IDB InÂvest, has apÂproved fiÂnancÂing of up to US$500 milÂlion for the ANSA McAL Group to supÂport inÂvestÂments aimed at exÂpandÂing inÂdusÂtriÂal caÂpacÂiÂty and strengthÂenÂing supÂply chains across the Caribbean.
The fiÂnancÂing, anÂnounced on MonÂday, repÂreÂsents IDB InÂvest’s largest ever inÂvestÂment in the Caribbean.
An iniÂtial comÂmitÂment of US$200 milÂlion has been apÂproved. This inÂcludes US$150 milÂlion from IDB InÂvest, made up of a US$100 milÂlion term loan and a US$50 milÂlion reÂvolvÂing credÂit faÂcilÂiÂty, along with US$50 milÂlion from the Japan InÂterÂnaÂtionÂal CoÂopÂerÂaÂtion Agency through its Trust Fund AchievÂing DeÂvelÂopÂment of Latin AmerÂiÂca and the Caribbean (TADAC).
