The UnitĀed States has anĀnounced a US$10 milĀlion iniĀtiaĀtive to supĀport reĀsilient port inĀfraĀstrucĀture across the Caribbean, as part of efĀforts to deepĀen ecoĀnomĀic enĀgageĀment and safeĀguard critĀiĀcal reĀgionĀal asĀsets.
The fundĀing, to be deĀlivĀered through the Caribbean Basin SeĀcuĀriĀty IniĀtiaĀtive, was disĀclosed durĀing a roundĀtable hostĀed by the US DeĀpartĀment of State with AmerĀiĀcan marĀitime inĀdusĀtry leadĀers and Caribbean port auĀthorĀiĀties on MonĀday.
A stateĀment by the US State DeĀpartĀment did not name the counĀtries inĀvolved in the disĀcusĀsions.
