A woman attempting to travel to St. Kitts aboard a Caribbean Airlines flight was arrested on Monday for possession of cocaine and a large sum of cash.
According to reports, around 10:55 a.m., an estate constable operating a security scanner at Piarco International Airport noticed anomalies during the screening of the passenger, a Trinidadian national from Carenage.
The officer conducted a physical search in the airport’s search room and allegedly found a pink balloon strapped around the woman’s waist containing 17 pellets of cocaine, weighing a total of 281.5 grammes.
