Members of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) seized 65 kilogrammes of cocaine at the Piarco International Airport cargo area on December 8, 2024, with an estimated street value of TT$91 million.
The drugs were examined by the Specialist Evidence Recovery Unit (SERU) and the Forensic Science Laboratory.
Following extensive investigations, SIU officers conducted a further operation in the Western Division on December 1, this year, detaining three individuals. At one location, authorities seized £7,005 British Pounds, €150 Euros, and TT$69,820, with investigations continuing under the Proceeds of Crime Act through the Financial Investigation Bureau.
