One person has been arrested, a substantial quantity of copper wire and cables suspected to be the property of the Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT), with a preliminary estimated value in the millions of dollars, has been recovered, and TT$681,493.00 and US$11,000.00 in cash have been seized during an intelligence-led exercise yesterday.
The recoveries were made during Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E. SHIELD, which commenced at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday 21st August 2026 and remains ongoing.
The operation was spearheaded under the leadership of DCP Suzette Martin, ACP Anthony Remy, Senior Superintendent Claire Guy-Alleyne and Superintendent Glodon. It was supervised by ASP Mark Hernandez and Inspector Rampersad, with field supervision provided by Sgt Samuel, Sgt Parks of the Special Investigation Unit, and PC Hosein.
