Minibus passenger robbed at stoplight

(Kaieteur News) – Police in Regional Division #4’A’ are investigating an alleged robbery under arms committed on a 33-year-old contractor at about 11:00hrs on Monday on Conversation Tree Road, Bel Air, Georgetown.

Investigations revealed that the victim was seated in the front passenger seat of a bus which had stopped at a traffic light, when two unidentified men approached on a black and red motorcycle.

The pillion rider reportedly dismounted, drew a handgun and demanded the victim’s grey haversack, valued at $5,000, which contained personal documents. When the victim refused, the suspect allegedly discharged a round, striking him in his left thigh.
