Police are investigating two separate incidents of sexual assault reported on Tuesday, involving young women who alleged they were attacked at private residences in Barataria and Malabar.

In the first case, a 23-year-old woman reported that she was sexually assaulted around 12:30 p.m. after arranging via Instagram to get a tattoo from a man residing along Swami Avenue, Barataria.

According to police reports, while waiting in the gallery area of the suspect’s home, the man allegedly grabbed her and forced her into a room, where he proceeded to have non-consensual sexual intercourse with her. The woman told officers that her screams were heard by someone outside, who began knocking on the door. This reportedly caused the suspect to flee the scene in a black Toyota Corolla.
