A new chapter in Trinidad and Tobago’s dairy industry began on Thursday, with the commissioning of a 300-litre pasteurisation plant at the Sugarcane Feed Centre in Longdenville.
The initiative, led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, is aimed at strengthening domestic agro-processing capacity while building a more resilient local dairy value chain.
Speaking at the commissioning, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Analeen Inniss, stressed that the new plant represents a revitalisation of the local dairy processing industry, one geared towards reducing imports while boosting domestic supply.
