The long-awaited agro-processing facility is set to come on stream soon, according to Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Ravi Ratiram.
Minister Ratiram said the outfitting of the agro-processing facility is now in progress and will provide farmers with expanded opportunities for packaging and value-added processing of their produce.
“I’m happy to announce that within a few days from now, within the coming weeks, we are going to be launching and recommissioning the Namdevco Packing House, which is going to be known as the agro-processing centre of Trinidad and Tobago. Very soon, we are going to be opening that. You all know that we would have gotten an agro-processing facility from the Prime Minister of India valued at about US$1 million.”
