Crys­tal Bevin Ashe is the new pres­i­dent of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Uni­fied Teach­ers’ As­so­ci­a­tion (TTUTA), de­feat­ing in­cum­bent Mar­tin Lum Kin in elec­tions held on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 14, 2025.

Ashe, who rep­re­sents the Sec­ondary Schools In­spec­torate (SSI), re­ceived 3,546 votes, ahead of Lum Kin’s 1,019. Randy Lall, Ra­jdeo Mo­han, Ger­maine Ray­mond, and An­der­son Zoe were al­so in the run­ning.

Nigel Fi­garo was elect­ed sec­ond vice-pres­i­dent with 4,395 votes, while Bar­ry Joel De­saine won the po­si­tion of third vice-pres­i­dent with 4,033.
