A 30-year-old man from Dundonald Hill, St James, was shot and injured by police officers on Monday afternoon, after allegedly attempting to stab them with a sharpened object.
According to reports, WPC Roberts and PC McIntosh of the E999/ERP unit, were on mobile patrol in a marked police vehicle along Dundonald Hill at 2.45 pm, when they noticed the suspect behaving suspiciously with an object in his waistband.
The officers stopped and attempted to search him, at which point he allegedly pulled out a sharpened object and lunged at them in an erratic and violent manner. The officers discharged their firearms, shooting the suspect twice in the legs.
