THE Government has reached an agreement with the National Union of Government and Federated Workers (NUGFW) for a 10% wage increase for daily-rated workers, after months of negotiations.
It means that 20,000 workers (labourers and other skilled workers) are expected to receive new salaries by June or July.
Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) Dr Daryl Dindial said yesterday the agreement covers two outstanding bargaining periods, 2014–2016 and 2017–2019.
