Ousted Strategic Services Agency (SSA) director, retired Major Roger Best, appeared at a United National Congress (UNC) pre-election meeting in Debe on Tuesday evening, in support of what he said was “democracy” and “righteousness”.
Wearing a blue party branded T-shirt, Best however denied being politically aligned, instead citing party support for the oppressed, and a stand for righteousness as his reasons for being in attendance.
Best, who was fired as SSA director last May following his suspension and his time in police custody being questioned in relation to allegations of illegal transferring of firearms, was never charged with a crime. He was seen at the meeting in the company of Oropouche East Member of Parliament Dr Roodal Moonilal and Barataria/San Juan MP Saddam Hosein.
